Haringey Council still has one of the highest rates of fly-tipping in the country. Information revealed by the Liberal Democrats shows that Haringey has the 4th highest incidents of fly-tipping in London and is 6th highest in England.

Haringey Teaching and Primary Care Trust's official rating for quality of service has fallen from 'good' to 'fair' and its performance in meeting national targets has fallen to 'weak'.

It has emerged that Haringey Council was investing new money in Icelandic banks as recently as 29th September 2008, in news that have caused Liberal Democrat councillors to demand a independent inquiry into the fate of £37m of taxpayers' money.

Haringey's Labour Council has been forced to postpone its £12 million plan to move the borough's Civic Centre. On Friday last week the Council announced that due to the economic crisis enveloping the Council it would be postponing the move to Woodside House. Liberal Democrats have welcomed the decision but continue to call for the plan to be scrapped rather than just delayed.

All council tenants in Haringey will now receive a letter to inform them of dangerous safety catches following calls for action by Liberal Democrats. Homes for Haringey are writing this week to 14,000 residents advising them to check their windows for faults.

The Liberal Democrats' prospective parliamentary candidate for Tottenham, David Schmitz, has criticised local Conservatives after the Conservative candidate in the forthcoming Alexandra by-election hinted that police should be diverted away from Tottenham.
