We request that Haringey Council, as a matter of urgency, p[rovide a pedestrian crossing over Green Lanes at its junction with Frobisher Road. We draw attention to the following facts:
(1) There are no such crossings over Green Lanes for 200 metres in either direction.
(2) Large numbers of people cross here. these include, among others, residents of Mountview Court who are taking their children to school in Falkland Road, and residents of the "Ladder" who use the bus services on Green Lanes in the direction of Central London.
(3) Traffic moves swiftly and pedestrians have to keep a look out in several directions at once. Over the years, a number of pedestrians have been injured here.
Even if you've already signed this petition, you can use the printable petition sheet to collect more signatures from your friends and neighbours.
You could go door to door on your street or pass the sheet around at a local event. Good places to leave a few copies include shops, pubs, libraries, and post offices - but don't forget to collect them and send them back to us.
When complete, please return (as soon as possible) to: Tottenham Liberal Democrats, Haringey Liberal Democrats, 62 High Street, London N8 7NX.
